That’s right I had surgery!
The surgery was on my appendix about six weeks ago. I was taken in on a Sunday to the Emergency Department because the pain was so bad I couldn’t move without crying.
I had to wait in a bed in the Emergency for a while and then at night they moved me up to the children’s ward (it hurt so much to move). And on Monday they got two doctors in to see me. The first one didn’t know what the problem was, but the second one got in much later and he was a surgeon. Right away he knew that it was my appendix and that it would have to come out. He s
aid he would perform the surgery the next day and that really scared me.
So I had the surgery and when they woke me up it hurt so much! When I fell asleep they woke me up much later and said that it was my appendix and that I had another thing called an omental infarction. The surgeon said he had only seen one of those twice in Canada, and that I was the second one.
I was allowed to leave the hospital and go home on Thursday, but I had to wait four weeks before I could go back to playing sports.
That’s the story of my surgery. Thank you!
